Who would be the audience for your media product? I have made sure that by using Standard English it would appeal to anybody within the age range I preferred to the RnB genre, focusing mainly on the target audience living in the inner city, and in areas in the city. This means that my post production product would be attractive to the target audience within the city not as many people would be interested in this genre if they are living in rural areas such as the countryside. The audience that would be interested in my post production product would from the age range of late teenagers to mid twenties.
The graph above expresses how much the audience are willing to pay for a College Magazine I have used this demonstration as it was important that I stuck to the pricing they expected. I created this pie chart after I collected up all the results the audience gave me by ticking the appropriate boxes. The male audience would have a certain clothing preference and prefer to purchase their outfits in clothing companies such as JD sports or in Timberland showing me that they prefer to own something that is branded rather than from the high street. By researching on the RWD's website I found out that they have a good delivery success distributing around about 1000 copies of their fashion magazine a month. When research for my ideal audience I discovered that the female members of the my chosen audience seem to dress in a quite provocative manner as they are generally dressed in either a tight fitting top or a bodycon skirt which seems to attract a lot of attention from the teenage men.
When analyzing what I wrote in the profiling analysis I was able to analysis the demographic similarities within the work I have done and on the success of a popular publishing company called RWD magazine. This informed me that to create an effective magazine I had to decide with genre would I work on and which gender I would be mainly aiming to appeal which would be the female members of my audience.
After I had decided who were the target audience was I then focused on what colours and images would as appeal the female fan base. The photographs were the simplest thing to do as did not have to modify the settings on the camera and I only had to take a picture in the portrait format. I knew to do this as this was one of the things I had previously made an error on and had to correct the mistake by redoing the photographs. As mentioned in my profiling analysis I believe the audience that would be interested in my media product would be teenagers that generally live in urban areas and like to listen to popular artists such as Chris Brown.
In the image on the right hand side there is an example of the target audience I aim I have tried to target the audience through the use of a model who is at a similar age therefore creating a link to the the product. The target audience I am aiming to promote my magazine at are between the ages of 15 to 23.
Also the majority of the people in this social group are very likely to own a Blackberry, which is a popular phone to have even if they do not have credit. There is less of a chance that as many people in this age range would own an I-phone due to the high cost and it is a more popular within other social groups such as Indie or Classical music. They are able to still remain in the social loop communicating by using ping chat (this is a way of communicating for free via text messages). I thought about insight that I could already have as I too am a teenage girl living in London where it is easy for teenagers to give into peer pressure and go out and buy a Blackberry just because it is a social trend. The audience research was important as I needed to know what exactly people wanted to be mentioned in the music magazine.
