When deciding to an extra textual analysis I was appealed by the RWD's magazine front cover as it was a use of multiple colours combined. I believe it has a feminine appeal as most of the front cover is covered by traditionally femimine colours (purple, pink and orange).
The masthead is an abbreviation of the word rewind, I think they abbreviated this to make it more colloquial, as as the use of slang will attract the teenage audience more. I found it interesting as only Yasmin's eyes and part of her top are normal, whereas the rest of the her body are in different colours.
The way that Yasmin is looking at the camera suggests that she is flirtatious. One of the coverlines has an enlarged font and all the words are in capital letters this I believe is a denotation of the importance of the artists mentioned . I found the main coverline "Yasmin" unique as it was multi coloured going down diagonally (to the right) instead of having the traditional horizontal effect variating in colour from the left hand side to the right from traditional feminine colours, to masculine to neutral colours at the far end (right hand side).
The costume she is wearing an everyday outfit giving her a smart look yet with the accessories used makes her look youthful (as that skirt and belt she is wearing will not normally be worn with that style of top). The non verbal communication gives a sense of mischievous behaviour as Yasmin is pulling down her three dimensional glasses so that the photographer can see her eyes (which the colour of her eyes have been changed in Photoshop by using manipulating). Another coverline which has postioned on the bottom of the magazine cover in white text informing the readers that Yasmin is competing against her rival Perri Shakes Drayton, the use of the slang abbreviation "Head2Head" signifies the way that the journalist is trying to connect to their audience. There is no setting as the background has been created using a programme such as Photoshop.
Although the photograph of Yasmin had been taken in low key lighting, this effect was probably done by positioning the light so that it was facing her face and shining on her top. There is no symmetry as she is not facing straight towards the camera (only her eyes are looking directly forward). This type of shot is a medium close up as up to her waist is visible. One thing I liked about this front cover is that the celebrity that was chosen was not dressed in a provocative way. This is something I found strange as it is rare to see in magazines unless they are aimed at a younger age group (for example ten year olds). A observed something that I preceived as a denotation (the fact that her collar is facing upward to me this signified a rebellion against conformity).
